Prayer

Owen will now close his eyes and fold his arms when we pray, and other times not so much. But when we are doing whatever around the house or outside Owen will fold his arms and look at me like "ok mom, don't keep me waiting pray already". I love that he helps me pray more and we both are getting closer to our Heavenly Father.

Giant Cookie

When Mike and I went to Granville Island in Vancouver we bought and enjoyed a giant cookie. It was amazing! Since then I have wanted to make my own. This cookie here is bigger then the one we bought but it was just as good.

The recipe is super easy if anyone wants it let me know. It makes me think of my brother Dave because he always took the extra cookie dough and made a giant cookie. Love you Brother!

Sledding!

Mike's Snow Man

Mike and Owen played in the snow this morning. Mike loves his snowman! He hasn't worked this week, but he'll go back next week when things hopefully warm a bit up. Owen has been in heaven having his dad to play with all day. Here is a early Merry Christmas to you all!

Bread

Here they are! My first 2 loafs of bread i've ever made in the oven. Ones again I tip my hat to my Better Homes and Garden cook book. It has never led me astray.
I was so excited about my white bread that I made some whole wheat bread that night. hmmmm it's really yummy! I would like to thank my Mom and Fred for inspiring me to make bread, both of them are very excellent bread makers. If anyone has a great recipe send it my way I'd love to try it.

I'm a proud mom!

Yesterday Owen and I went swimming at Panorama Pool. I wear a very embarrassing orange skirt bathing suit but you get over these things as time passes. Anyway Owen was a champion at blowing bubbles, kicking and using the dumbell float things. I was very proud. Today we went to strong start and for the first time he played with a baby doll. It was so cute! He cradled it and loved it for maybe 2 minutes and he was on to the next toy, but it got me excited :)

Temple Trip

On Saturday the 6th Mike and I went with our ward to the Vancouver Temple. This was the first time we have been back to the temple since it was dedicated. I know! Way to long to have been so grateful for one so close and then never go. Well we finally did it and Mike's parents were kind enough to watch Owen for us. We couldn't believe we had a whole day date. Loved it! The morning in the temple was really peaceful and so nice to have familiar faces around. It was great how you pretty much can't possibly get lost in it. Oh the other perk was that my dress fit. It was a squeeze but a success. We were able to do work for Mike's dad side of the family. One of the cool things of marrying a 2nd generation Mormon there is lots of work to do!
We then drove to Ganville Island in Vancouver. There is a bridge and the whole island seemed to be under a bridge anyways it had the neatest stores. Like the entire island was dedicated to creativity and silliness. Clearly Mike and I are very silly and loved it very much.......is that clear? hmmmmm I don't think the world knows just how silly my husband is. Lets just say the first month of married life with him was a bit of a surprise cause he held nothing back in his silly little mind. I love him for it. Anyway there is a kids building where they even have a short front door just for kids. We spent most our time there. Had lunch shopped around some more and then drove back to the ferry. Now we can't wait to go back to the temple and explore more of Vancouver. Being there really made me feel blessed for where I live and how beautiful it is here and well much, much smaller. I love Victoria!
Owen did really well with Grandma and Grandpa McCullough. He slept in his bed and eat all his lunch and was happy all day so what more can you ask for. Thanks Fred and Janet!

Me

Owen is so fake sleeping.

These were the only ones of me. I'll try and get a video to work. They are not that cute, but if you had a look at me right now you would definitely think so. I hate sty's.(i can't stop the underline)

Pictures!

Our video camera takes pictures and we finally uploaded them on the the computer. So here are all of them!

Yes, Mike carved a R2D2 pumpkin and he couldn't be more proud of it :)
Here is Owen learning how to sleep in his bed and well didn't quite make it to his bed. He usually doesn't get there at nap time but he's been doing great at bed time(night time). He'll get there one of these days.

Here are my good look'n men ready for church

We couldn't resist the monkey suit at Old Navy. It didn't take him long to get the hang of people handing him candy. It was lots of fun at the trunk or treat.
Oh yes, this is Owen asleep on his floor at 4pm because he refused to take a nap. What a turkey
That's all for now!

6 Months along

.....I will give you the bad news first. Yesterday I had cramps all morning so I called the nurses health line wondering if this is normal and apparently it's not. I went to the doctors and I have a bladder infection. Did you know that bladder infections are the number one causes of premature labour? I never new that till yesterday. I also got a sty? or pink eye I don't know, but it's ugly that's for sure. We went out last night to the big trunk or treat at the stake center and I felt like I should have put a pillow up on my shoulder so I could finish off my Quaseemoto costume, but it was pretty fun, and it was a great turn out. Owen had a fantastic time. I was handing candy out by our trunk and Mike was with our little Monkey. Mike said by the third time someone handed him a sucker he ripped off the wrapper and stuck it in his mouth before dad could stop him. He's a quick one:)
Now the the good news. We are spending Christmas with my family this year. We are very excited! I'm doing some homemade gifts and it's been so fun having a new project. For how blah I might be feeling I have great things to look forward too.

Learning to Pray

Last night when we sat down for dinner. Mike and I folded our arms and told Owen we were about to pray. He then closed his eyes and crossed his arms. As he was crossing his arms he hit his bowl full of food and it flew off the table. It was so cute. Food flying all over the kitchen is a very normal thing here...sadly. But in the act of getting ready to pray was very cute.

Owen has also figured out how to climb out of his playpen......brutal

The Power of a Chair

When 2 glasses, 1 plate and a bowl brakes in the time span of 2 weeks you learn that nothing on the kitchen table is safe anymore. sadly it took me 2 weeks to take it seriously. Owen has mastered the climb up on to the chair so he can reach on the counter tops now. This morning mike even set up the kitchen sink as a water station for him to play in while he was getting ready for work. I'm a little concerned about the stove top and the knifes are now on top of the fridge. Yeah. When he can climb from the chair to the actual countertop i'm sure i'll be finding him on top of the fridge one of these days.......with the knives....I need a better place. I thought I was doing well maintaining some what of a clean home but the level of speed it needs to be before the dirty dishes become the next water toy is the new challenge.
I must say this little man is the best at giving hugs and kisses. The best at discovering new ways to have fun like in the vents just recently that's been a fun one that has been the death to a few toys. He is getting so much better at eating his dinner and turns out to have a good attention span for watching movies while I get dinner ready. He has little fear and is actually really tough, his pain tolerance is quiet high.
5 months time our world will change again in a big way. bring it on.

Update

Well September so far has been very busy. For the labour day weekend I was working at a Norwex booth in the Saanich Fair with friends of mine. We had a lot of fun and sold lots of product. I'm just now going through the brutal after math of money and finishing orders and sending product back. This is our first super huge tradeshow and it's been a serious learning curve for all of us. Monday was the worst because I had the all day shift and it was raining all day. yeah I had 5 hot chocolates and lots of yummy deep fried warm food served on the fair grounds. It was great/brutal.

On Tuesday the 7th I went in for my ultra sound and it was awesome.....well except for the fact the little TV you watch the baby on was broken so I cranked my head to look at the screen she was working on. But the baby is so sweet. The tech kept telling me how the baby was giving her a hard time because of how active it is. My tummy is really small but the baby is perfect size. I guess that's the beauty of being tall :) She gave us lots of pictures and even a great one of the legs and general area for finding out if it's a boy or a girl. I'm going to take it with me to my next doctors appointment so she can tell me. We are getting really excited for a new baby in our family.

3 days ago we put our house up on the market. The for sale sign went up and made it official. We had our first showing this morning and the house looks fantastic. Now that I am forced to keep the house not clean but immaculate at all time, it's nice/brutal. So we'll see how things go.

Our camera is broken so no more pictures. sorry.

Teething and Roseasha?

This week started with Owen getting a fever for 48 hours straight. He was a red hot, drolly baby. The next couple days he was just plain old cranky and still is. Last night we found red spots all over his body and took him to emergency. Side note: Anyone that needs to get right in at a hospital or clinic go to Saanich Peninsula Hospital. We waited oh maybe 10 minutes, and that's the longest I've waited there. Moving on. It turns out he's been suffering from a virus called Roseasha? something? He did however cut 4 molars the same week. Poor guy. If it wasn't for that blessed fruit watermelon I don't know how I could have lived through it myself. Watermelon my hats off to you. I have the perfect picture of Owen scowling at me and eating his watermelon. My camera cord is missing so when I find it I'll post it. That picture alone says exactly how my week went.

Mike's been working really hard on finishing our bedroom and bathroom. Finally a new sink in our bathroom and color on the walls. Mike is amazing. He really knows what to do when it comes to paint colors and such. Well with that all said my house is a little bit upside down, but everything will be in order for when Diana and Bryce come to visit. Yeah!( my sister and brother in-law) I am really excited! One of the best things we do when my family comes to Vic is go out for fish and chips. It'll be lots of fun when they come.

The Alchemist

I read my second book this year. haha. I don't really read ever and when I do it's on vacation or weird occasions like this. It's called the Alchemist by: Paulo Coelho I must say it's my favourite book. MaryAnn my sister gave it to me for my Birthday and wrote behind the cover.
"Julianne, May you always follow your heart and live your dreams. Happy Birthday. Love, MaryAnn
Thank you Mary.
For any of you looking for a book that will inspire you to follow your "Personal Legend" or as we call them "dreams", it's a fantastic story.

my closet

I have decided to tackle my closet. It took all of Monday to seriously think about organizing it...I was sick all that day so I had some good moments of pondering and staring. Tuesday I did laundry and got all the maternity cloths out and I boxed the skinny clothes that have been making me mad lately. Then Wednesday and Today have been box all the junk i haven't used in the last year and find another place for the things I do. A couple hours each morning working on it has been great. My project is getting rid of the clutter spots that have been there since we moved in a year ago. There are a lot :) Wish me luck.

Heartbeat!

Owen and I went to the doctors today and we had a very special surprise! We got to hear the heartbeat of our new little baby McCullough that is on it's way! Wow! All the puking and feeling sick ALL the time, is so worth it. Oh I love this baby already! Dr. Michelle gave us the due date of Feb. 1st 2011.

Chestermere

This is my parents home and my mom has all the great pictures on her camera. Every day when my dad got home from work Owen would run to him and they would sit on the couch together. It wasn't long before Owen had grandpa's glasses on :) It was pretty cute.

This is Jane my sister Suzanne's daughter. Annie, Jane and Lucy were amazing with Owen! They took such good care of him and even taught him a new dance. We just got off skype with the girls and as soon as Owen saw them he started to do the stick your tough out and shake your arms around like a crazy man dance. He misses you girls :)

Chesteremere was great. We went sailing on mom and dad's boat and tubing behind the motor boat. I felt like i was in a choir during all these events because we couldn't stop singing all the silly songs on Owen's CD that Jen made for him. Thanks Jen! Owen Loves it and I have officially learned most all the words to "glass bottom boat"....the fav of course :)

Medicine Hat

After we had fun in Red Deer we got back in the car to see Diana and Bryce in Medicine Hat. Thankfully the rain had stopped but the river had flooded so bad that we had to detour a bunch of times to get throw the city. Saturday morning we went to the farmers market. I loved it, and so did Owen. He danced and clapped for the band :)

Owen with Uncle Bryce watching soccer on the computer. Good man stuff.
Thank you Bryce and Diana for having us and I can't wait to meet little baby Meldrum :)

The Secret Project

Owen and I just got back today from our 2 week vacation in Alberta visiting all my family. it was a wonderful time! Mike was telling me that he was working on a secret project in Owen's room. Here are the pictures of all the hard work Mike put into it.
Here is Owen tired from his plane ride home and sleeping in his new room. Needless to say he was a little freaked out when he wokeup, ones again he woke up not knowing where he was :)

Can you believe Mike just painted this all free hand?! We love it! Thank you Mike for working so hard on the house before we got home. We are still missing you and can't wait to see you when you get home from work.
